Types of Biodegradable Packaging
We understand that every business is different, which is why we use a range of biodegradable packaging made from different materials in order to perfectly match your needs. Currently, the materials we use are:
Natureflex – made from natural, renewable resources, such as wood pulp, and is both biodegradable and compostable which makes it one of the most eco-friendly products we offer. In addition to being environmentally friendly, Natureflex is static free, can be heat sealed, has variable moisture permeability and can be offered as a clear or metalised film to match your needs and requirements.
Certain grades of Natureflex are also suitable for microwave or conventional oven use, being able to be kept at 200°C for up to 30 minutes.
PLA Film – made from Polylacticacid, this environmentally friendly polymer is made from renewable corn starch and can degrade to CO2 and H2O in just 45 days. This qualifies it for the European composting certification standards ASTM D5338 at 58°C.
This film is non-toxic and can therefore be used with all food types, making it ideal for biodegradable food packaging. It complies with the regulations required of EU member states, the USA and most other countries throughout the world with specific food contact regulations.
Paper – our paper products are sourced from renewable locations, providing an eco-friendly material that’s suitable for a very versatile range of requirements. This material comes in a wide range of shapes, sizes, colour options and linings to suit most requirements, see our range of paper bags here
